EVENT OVERVIEW

We are transitioning towards the darkest and shortest season, Winter.
During this beautiful in-person gathering, we will kindle the inner soul flame as we move from darkness back to light.
We will use our voices, our bodies, our breath, our collective + individual intentions to carve a clear path forward towards the illumination of Spring.
The inherent shifts that are happening all around us are becoming more visible each day. And if we listen and become more attuned, we can also witness an echoing of the seasonal rhythms occurring within us. Now is the time where the veil between our realm and the spiritual realm is thinnest and connection to the unseen is most tangible.
As we turn back towards the light, there are some beautiful practices that can help us to embrace Winter in a graceful and embodied way.
WHATS INCLUDED
  • An introduction and group introduction
  • A seasonally curated 75-minute Yin Yoga practice
  • Seasonal wisdom offered during the Yin session
  • A 30-minute Crystal Bowl sound bath
  • Closing gratitude circle

ABOUT YIN YOGA
In yin practices we stretch the connective tissue that is centralized at the joints. Yin yoga practice supports flexibility + opening in areas that are often perceived as non-malleable; particularly the hips, pelvis + lower spine. It allows also an opportunity to exercise deep breathwork practices that stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system (your rest and digest functions). When you gently stretch connective tissues by holding a supported pose for a long time, the body will respond by making them both stronger + more limber —which is exactly what you want in order to maintain a healthy range of motion, good mobility + comfort in the body. Considering all the aforementioned benefits, this practice is nurturing to the body physically mentally + emotionally.

ABOUT CRYSTAL BOWLS
Just as a typical bath involves a person immersing themselves in water, a sound bath attempts to immerse a person in sound, so they feel enveloped in it. In most cases, the bath involves singing bowls, which are small bell-like instruments that create a resonant tone when a person strikes them.

Sound baths are more of a spiritual practice; they involve feeling the vibrations from the sound throughout the body.

Sound baths are a meditative practice involving the use of resonant music. This creates an immersive sound that fills the room and the body, aiming to help people relax and let go of stress, anxiety, or other worries + concerns.
